Enhancing the user authentication process with colour memory cues

چکیده
The authentication process is the first line of defence against potential impostors, and therefore an important concern when protecting personal organisational data. Although there are many options to authenticate digital users, passwords remain most common mechanism. However, with password numbers increasing, users struggle remembering multiple passwords, which affects their security behaviour. Previous researchers practitioners have attempted suggest ways improve memorability simultaneously. We introduce novel approach that utilises colour as a memory cue increase security. A longitudinal study examined in total over 3000 were created, learnt recalled (password process) period five-weeks. By adding process, our results can be increased Through giving user option choosing colours (compared being preselected), encourages create more meaningful cues creating passwords. Additionally, also provided another parameter by increasing entropy. These unique practical implications for could positively impact security, financial losses suffered due breaches.

Remote User Authentication Scheme with User Anonymity
This paper proposes a scheme allowing a user to log into the server with a dynamic pseudonym. No one can trace the specified user except the service provider, which protects the user privacy from outsiders in this way. Besides, the scheme provides the following merits: (1) no verification table; (2) mutual authentication; (3) low communication and computation cost; (4) free password change; (5)...
متن کاملUser Authentication with Neural Networks
The purpose of this paper is to introduce Artificial Intelligence in the field of data-security and to propose an easy to implement Neural Networks based method for user authentication. The problem has been faced exploiting an RBF-like Neural Net to recognize the typing style of users asking for connection. The introduction of Neural Nets allows to extract rules directly from row data (users ty...

In the realm of computer security, biometrics refers to authentication technique that relies on the measurement of physiological and individual characteristics that can be automatically verified. In our proposed biometric system is a combo of modeling and quantification of different human cognitive factors and fuzzy decision tree. In our novel biometric system we use visual search and short ter...
متن کاملThe Effectiveness of Artificial Rhythms and Cues in Keystroke Dynamics Based User Authentication
ics based user authentication achieves relatively high performances only with a fairly large g patterns. When a user changes one’s password, only a handful of new patterns become such a circumstance, the quality of data becomes as important as that of a classifier. artificial rhythms and cues was proposed to improve the quality of data. In this paper, we iment and test some hypotheses using a c...
متن کاملRelative colour cues improve colour constancy in birds.
A ripe strawberry looks red to our eyes in sunlight and in the green light of a forest, although the spectrum of light reflected from its surface differs dramatically. This is caused by two effects: colour constancy and our ability to learn relative colour cues - the ripe strawberry remains relatively 'redder' than an unripe green strawberry. While colour constancy - the ability to recognize co...
